Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale remains oblivious to the barrier and runs straight into it. He is tossed back and into the ground, creating a small crater. He lies injured and realizes he isn't going to be able to attack, or even move, in time to save Laena. One last idea comes to his mind and he goes into a trance, hoping his last ditch effort works. "Nemo me impune lacessit... This is your only warning, Siren. Mortals hold the memories of greater horrors that your kind only hears of. Horrors that make one seek death to escape the life that brings them. These things are easily transferred to you, which I will very well do if neccesary."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Your foolish mind games will not work on me, mortal. Meddle in the affairs with the daughters of the gods, and you will perish. That said, she pushes the staff with considerable force.
The bloodstained staff goes right through her, piercing the ground underneath. Her head droops forward, her eyes gazing lifelessly at the ground. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale's eyes go wide as he sees the Siren impale Laena. After a few moments of shock, Gale's eye grow dark and sanity once again snapped for Gale. Malice constricts his soul and a lust for vengence burn out any other thoughts that dwelled in his mind, thus making him forget the horrible scene for a few moments. The images of the five Sirens quickly flash over his eyes, but it end and stays on the image of their leader. The telepathic link is opened once more and her mind is bombarded with screams, threats, cries, and laughter. With every word comes memories of the past. The Abbis Angel War, the battles Gale has fought, but these are overshadowed by the almost unlimitled memories of Gale's crimes and the horror of victims. Destruction, sin, and screams echo through their minds, attempting to drown out all other though, as Gale had lost all of his thought. Throughout all of it, the mental attack seemed to be woven into a loud, psycotic laugh which in the physical world, Gale was having despite his deafness.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
At the same time Gale snaps, a crack is heard in the library of the castle. One was holding a pencil in his hand and he snapped it with his two fingers. He was in deep thought. He sat there rubbing his forehead, how would he use Laena to stop Gale?
---- |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The lead Siren screeches loudly and tries to shake the thoughts out her head, even though she has murdered thousands these images seem to bother her. She steps backwards, pulling the staff out of Laena, letting her fall to the ground.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The winds changes violently in the direction toward the leader of the Siren's. Despite her effrots, the mental attack on strengthens. Gale let's out a laugh, he seems to be speaking in unison with his telekenetic voice but it seems diffrent. Unlike his usual calm but cold tone, or his venemous tone when he was angry, it was darker. If he was insane a few minutes ago, he could best be described as evil now. "Something wrong? I believe you called it 'foolish mindgames' and that I would 'perish for meddling in the affairs of the daughters of the gods?'" Gale snickers. "Yes that's what you said before impaling Laena. Well, I WARNED YOU THIS WOULD HAPPEN!" Gale attempts to cleave off the Siren's arm. "Daughter of gods, hah. Immortality will be a curse when I'm finished!"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She shrieks in pain as the sword cuts her flesh deeply, and she swipes at Gale, trying to knock him away.
The other Sirens charge at Gale, their own staffs glowing. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale catches the blow in the chest and it cuts through his vest and shirt, drawing blood. He seems unphased, however. In the Siren's mind his voice continues to speak, getting louder every sentence. "I warned you. I warned you. I warned you. I warned you. I warned you. I warned you. I warned you. I warned you..... Gale turns to the charging Sirens and smiles. The wind changes again and Gale appears infront of the Siren that he charged earlier, Sin's tip a few inches from her face.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She stumbles slightly, then smiles herself. She screeches something to the other Sirens, then disappears into the woods, creating quite a din as she exits.
The Siren does not flinch at the sight of the sword, instead she attempts to impale Gale with her staff. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale kicks the staff up, knocking the tip toward the Siren. Decieding that this one is no longer a threat he turns and sees the one he was truelly after had left. He frowns but doesn't seem disappointed. "Do you really think that running can save you? From a sword, maybe. But you can't purge your mind of me. No matter how hard you try. You see, all I did was 'infect' you with my darkest memories. I don't need to to keep the link to keep it active. Enjoy insanity for the rest of eternity. I hope we meet again, so I can add further to your torment. I'll make you regret this day, and your own pathetic, arrogant, and empty existence forever. So says, 'the lowely mortal who was immune to your precious song'." "Gale laughs once more before he breaks the link. However, the curse does not leave, as Gale promised.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She prepares to attack again, but a loud screech causes her to glance away. She swipes at Gale one more time before disappearing with the other Sirens.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale sidesteps to avoid the swipe and watches the Siren vanish. It seems that the Abbis had regained his hearing. If he merely healed fast, or that his rage somehow strengthened his natural healing abilities, he wasn't sure. Nor did it matter. "Cowards, I'll hunt every last one of you down for this." Gale turns and walks a short distance and finds Laena's body. He stares blankly, not really knowing if this was real or a dream. It didn't feel like either. This was the calm before the storm. Gale carefully scopes up Laena and places her carefully in the jeep. He sits in the driver seat and stares into the mirror. His eyes still burned with hate, but he could also see the complete devestation he felt in them as well, even if no one else could. The more he thought, the more his rage grew. He swipes his fist and breaks the mirror off. "It seems my only puprose in this world is to feel pain. Well **** that. **** everything! None of it matters, it isn't fair that I have to suffer like this! Why can't I ever find peace?!" For the first time in over a thousand years, tears ran down Gale's eyes. After a few minutes of quiet sobbing he looks up, his pain now great anger. "I said I'd end it all, and I damn will. I'll kill all of them...the mortals, the immortals, even God Himself. I'll make sure they all die!" Gale starts the car and begins to drive back to the castle. Any signs of sorrows are now drowned out by a greater hatred than Gale has ever felt.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One, sick of just sitting around goes and walks around the castle. He looks through a window and sees a cloud of dust far off in the horizon. He looks even more closely and notices it's the Jeep, with people inside. One knew instantly it has to be Gale. One goes back and sits down, waiting for them to enter.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
After a few minutes of driving, Gale pulls up to the castle. He exits and picks up Laena and walks through the castle, looking for the door to the courtyard.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One hears the car pull up so he heads outside and sees Gale in the courtyard. And to his surprise, he sees Laena on his shoulders. "Hey, what happened? Where the Hell were you?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale ignores One and carefully places Laena to the side. He turns Sin into a shovel and begins to dig.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One, seeing the shovel, and Laena on the ground. . . it suddenly clicks in his head. "S-she's dead? But. . how did she d-die? H-...." He trails off. He goes up to Gale and puts his hand on his shoulder. He feels something strange as soon as his fingertips reach Gale, but One ignores it. "Tell me what happened!"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Do me a favor, shut the **** up for a minute." Gale continues digging, the hole getting larger every few minutes.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One begins to get irritated and grabs Gale by the arm and spins him around. One was about to open his mouth to ask again what happened to Laena, but as One stared into the eyes of his brother. . . something came to him. Something was different about Gale. It was like everything that One felt had changed in Gale over the past few months. . . had now tripled. The person in front of One was not the same person he grew up with. But instead, a shadow of a former Gale in the desperate times of war. One stood there with a wild look on his face, blankly staring at Gale.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale glares at One and speaks cooly. "Something wrong? It must of been important if you ignored my wish to be left alone."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I-.. I w-wanted to know. . . . . " One once again trails off, instead he backs up and turns around, heading back to the castle. He goes to his room, trying to figure the whole thing out.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale scoffs at One and goes back to digging. He was glad he left, he didn't need an interregation right now. What he needed right now was to get hammered so he could pass out and forget about everything for an hour or two. In fact, that sounds rather grand. Gale stabs Sin into the ground, he'd finished digging. He picks up Laena and gently places her in the grave. He picks up Sin and prepares to shovel the dirt back in, but he can't help but keep peering into the grave. The reality that this would be the last time he would see her finally hit, and it horrified him. After a moment Gale shakes the feeling off and burries Laena. With the task done, he turns Sin back into a sword and walks into the castle.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Rose watches the whole scene from her bedroom window. She walks over to the bed before Gale remembers her. There was something really weird about him today.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale trudges into the kitchen and grabs a bottle of red wine and rips off the cork, tossing it over his shoulder. He proceeds to chug the liquid down as he continues to walk into the library.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Rose opens the door to the library. "Gale, I completed my mission. When will my training continue?" She presents a bold, foolhardy figure.
((Ah, screw it. She's just damn stupid.)) |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale doesn't bother to turn around and keeps walking. He doesn't even respond until he's downed about half of the bottle. "It's meaningless."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Excuse me?" Her voice is light and, for the first time, an underlining of respect is heard.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I told you, it's meaningless." Gale obviously finished with the subject, his patience rapidly deteriorating.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Rose is quiet, trying to figure him out. "Then my training is over? Your not going to continue with it anymore?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Her voice, even though silenced on this earth forever, still rings clearly in Gale's mind.
"You.. you will never have to be afraid....." |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Gale? Did you get away from the Angels okay? I tried to lead them away from you. I didn't think they were so fast though..." Upset in that childish way when an adult doesn't speak, Rose rambles on about her escape and being hurt.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale snarls. "Be silent! I'm not in the mood for your petty little stories!" Gale's eyes widen when he remembers Laena's words. He had felt anger when the Abbis were all but destroied, but this somehow was diffrent. He felt haunted, and more crushed then before. It was possible that he felt worse.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Her voice still rings clearly in Gale's mind, but now reality's completely split in two; it's almost as if they were back in Blythandor sitting against a tree.
"This pain you're feeling.. It's almost unbearable, isn't it..?" Her hand is gently placed over his, and there's a white flash. Now she's looking him straight in the eyes, a hand on his shoulder. "I am only trying to help you... You cannot destroy this earth if you have sympathy for at least one creature, can you?" Her image distorts, then disappears. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
As the flashbacks continue to come to him, he clutches his head and begins mumbling to himself, the line of reality and memory fades to the point it's almost dreamlike. "Help...you said that before...... Sympathy...? I feel sympathy for no one anymore. They're all worthless......!"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One is in another room, he just noticed he still had the disc that Rose took of the Angel database. He turns around and heads out to find Gale. He walks in on the scene with Gale shouting at Rose. But as One got closer. . it seemed to be Gale was shouting at himself. . . One moved Rose to the side. "You, stay away from Gale for now. Don't leave the castle, but try not to cross his path. Bottom line: don't get on his nerves. Now go to your room."
One turns around and goes back to Gale, pulling the disc out as he walks. "This is the information Rose extracted from the Angel outpost. You wanted it, there it is." |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Upon hearing something that'd didn't piss him off, he left his dream like state and snatched it from One. "So that brat isn't completely useless...."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One places his hand on Gale's shoulder and looks into his eyes, he finds this rather difficult as it seems he's looking into the eyes of a stranger. "Gale, I'm your brother. I've shed blood with you all your life, I think I deserve an explanation. I see a Siren, an immortal creature, come back dead. I see you act in a manner that I've never seen before. Please tell me what happened."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale pulls his shoulder away, obviously having no desire for "brotherly comfort and understanding." "You didn't notice her hair was diffrent. Her sisters found her and turned her into a human."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One thinks about it and it comes to him: The kiss between Gale and Laena. Her sisters came for her and killed her. "So you really liked her then huh? Found someone you really liked and she's gone. It hurts, doesn't it Gale? But what are you going to do now? What the **** are you going to do now? You're gonna go around killing everyone? You're ****ing crazy."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
A smile forms on Gale's face and then it turns into a wide grin. "....Yes....I am."
